Eliminate Toolstring Hold-up on Severe Rathole Ledges

A Mexican independent operator in northern Mexico had been experiencing repeated failures to log their wells due to a large ledge inside the rathole section, where the borehole shrank from 28” to 17.5”. On multiple wells, it was impossible to pass this restriction, and logs could not be acquired despite several attempts made. To overcome this persistent issue, it was proposed to run the toolstring with the PathFinder. The operator approved the trial on the next well in the sequence. PathFinder enabled two flawless descents, even across a 10” step-ledge.
